Analysis, Bold Predictions, And Game Picks For 'MNF’

As we get set for Monday Night Football, week 15 has been one of (if not) the best weeks of the season. All but 3 of the games were one score games, and we will see if this will be one as well. Coming into the year, this looked to be an exciting match with playoff implications. But, after the Rams have been dealing with injuries, and the Packers have not been as good as expected, as both teams have basically lost all of their playoff hopes. Regardless, let me share my analysis for both squads, a bold prediction and my game prediction.

Rams (4-9) @Packers (5-8) -7.5 GB 8:15 PM ET

Rams:

The Rams come into Lambeau after an insane victory over the Raiders after Baker Mayfield took the Rams down the field, 98 yards in less then 2 minutes with no timeouts. The Rams will be without star defensive end Aaron Donald for another game. I think that if Mayfield was able to lead them down the field 98 yards, while barely knowing the playbook. Now, after a long week, I think that he has fully understood the playbook. He will have to avoid getting sacked, as the Packers blitz over 40% of the time. The Rams gave up for sacks last week, but Mayfield had a 128.5 passer rating against the blitz last week.

Packers:

If the Packers want to win this game they are going to have to run the ball to set up the pass. This might be a bit challenging, as the Rams are only allowing 3.9 yards per carry to running backs. The Packers own run defense is in for a test, as they are allowing an even 5 yards to running backs. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers need to win this game and the rest of their games to be in playoff contention, which I doubt will happen.

Bold Prediction:

Mayfield will throw for over 300 yards. Mayfield has now developed a better understanding of the playbook, and has worked with his receivers a lot more. I think that Mayfield will also succeed under pressure, because he completed 10/12 passes for a 128.5 passer rating. This comes into play even more, because the Packers run more than 4 guys at the quarterback 40.3 percent of the time.

Game Pick:

GB 20 LAR 27
