Jimmy Garoppolo Breaks Foot, Out For Season

The 49ers season is in major jeopardy. In the first quarter of a week 13 clash between the Dolphins and the 49ers, 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was sacked by Jerome Baker and Jalen Philips, however the 49ers had bigger problems to deal with. Garoppolo, who has been through a handful of injuries in his career, had broken his foot on the play. The news came in the second quarter after he was carted off. The 49ers have placed him on IR and he will not play for the rest of the season. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan denied any chance Trey Lance would come back this season which means the 49ers will be rolling with Mr. Irrelevant in this year's draft Brock Purdy for the rest of the year. Purdy wasn’t that bad in relief of Garoppolo as his final statline was 25/37 210 yards 2 TD 1 INT 88.8 passer rating. Purdy also got his first career touchdown pass on a 4 yard pass to Kyle Juszczyk. Purdy has a lot of talent around him including Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey. The 49ers have signed Josh Johnson to back Purdy up as the 49ers look to make a playoff pin the NFC.
