The Mets have finally found out what to do with Brandon Nimmo, and most Mets fans are happy with that choice. Brandon Nimmo had a .274 average while hitting 16 home runs and driving in 64 RBI's. As a reward the Mets will pay Nimmo 162 million dollars (20.25 million a year) over 8 years. With Brandon Nimmo coming into this deal at age 29, I think this is a good deal for the Mets. Nimmo will provide a solid defender out in Center Field, and even when his physical abilities decline, he can still play a role, such as the designated hitter. This is only one of there big free agent signings as they have signed Edwin Diaz, Justin Verlander, José Quintana, and David Robertson. Only time will tell how many more pickups the Mets will have, and how Nimmo does over the next 8 years.
