NBA Finals Game 2 Preview: Heat @ Nuggets

After a victory in Game 1 of the 2023 NBA Finals, the Denver Nuggets are looking to get a 2-0 lead, and the Miami Heat are trying to even up the series before they head to Miami for Games 3 and 4. So now, let's get into my analysis and score prediction for Game 2.

Analysis:

In Game 1, Nikola Jokic had 27 points and Jamal Murray scored 26. Jokic had a triple-double, with 10 rebounds and 14 assists along with the 27 points. The Nuggets got 90 of their points from their starting 5, with their bench producing only 14. I think that the magic number for Jokic is 35 points, and if that doesn't happen, Murray can score 28, with Jokic getting a double-double. If either of those happen the Nuggets will most likely win. On the other side, this is the first time in the playoffs that the Miami Heat have lost the first game of a series. The star for Miami, Jimmy Butler, did not play good at all in Game 1 of the series. He scored of 13 points, with his +/- at -17. The only player on the team with a positive +/- was Kyle Lowry, with +2. The Heat had the smallest amount of free-throws shot in NBA History, with only 2. If Butler can get 40+ points, or the Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin can combine for 42+ points, the Heat might be able to win.

Injury Update:

There was a shot for Tyler Hero to play in Game 2 of the series, but his hand is still an issue, as he will sit in this game. He is questionable for Game 3.

Score Prediction:

Nuggets 109 Heat 102
